Entry Terms and Conditions (Terms)

  1. The #VOOM 2016 competition (Competition) is run and operated by Virgin Media Business Limited, Media House, Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UP (Virgin Media Business).
  2. Entrants must enter as directed on the Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016 website www.vmbvoom.com (Website). Entries open on 22 March 2016 at 6am. Entries close on 10 May 2016 at 11:59pm. Only entries uploaded via the Website will be eligible for the Competition. Winners of all Categories and Awards will be announced on 28 June 2016.
    1. No purchase necessary.
    2. Entrants must be 18 years of age or over.
    3. Entrants must be a UK, Ireland or Isle of Man resident with a UK, Ireland or Isle of Man based business.
    4. Entrants warrant that the entry is their own original work or the original work of the business.
    5. Entries are to be registered in the name of the individual who will represent the entry throughout the duration of the Competition.
    6. If entering as a co-owner, entrants must ensure they have consent from the co-owner(s) to enter this Competition. Co-owners will not be able to participate in the later stages of the competition, there can only be one representative per entry.
    7. Entrants will be required to provide valid contact details including:
      1. name;
      2. email address;
      3. telephone number; and
      4. location.
    8. The email address will need to be validated before the entry can be submitted.
    9. Entrants must be available to participate in the following activities should they make it through to shortlist, semi-finalist and/or finalist stages of the Competition (dates subject to change). If you are unable to attend on any of the following dates, your entry will not be permitted to progress and will be replaced with the next entry on the leader-board at that time:
      1. Impact Award entrants - Speed Interviews - London - 6 June;
      2. Pitchathon - London - 1 and 2 June 2016;
      3. Semi-finalist workshops - Birmingham - 13 and 14 June 2016;
      4. Impact Award entrants - Phone interviews - 13 and 14 June 2016;
      5. Finalist Training - Edinburgh - 21 June 2016;
      6. Live finale event - London - 28 June 2016.
  3. By Entering the Competition, you hereby consent to being filmed at all stages of the Competition.
  4. By entering the Competition, you hereby confirm that all information you submit is true, current and complete.
  5. Entrants may submit their entry in one of the two categories; Grow and Start-Up (Categories). Entrants may not enter both Categories. The following criteria apply to the Categories:
    • 5.1 Grow category - Entries can come from any size business; and
    • 5.2 Start Up category - Entries can come from any business in the start-up phase.
  6. In addition to submitting the entry in a Category, entrants may also choose to enter either the Impact Award or the Great Award.
  7. When entering the Competition, entrants will have the option to raise funds for their entry via Crowdfunder Limited (Crowdfunder). By selecting this option, entrants will automatically be eligible for the Crowdfunder Award. Entrants who choose to raise funds via Crowdfunder will be required to agree to Crowdfunder’s terms and conditions available at www.crowdfunder.co.uk.
  8. All entrants will automatically be registered for an account with Virgin Media Pioneers. Further information on Virgin Media Pioneers is available at https://www.virginmediapioneers.com.
  9. The Competition for the Categories is broken down into four stages as follows:
    • 9.1 Entries and public voting:
      1. Entries open 22 March 2016 and close 10 May 2016;
      2. Public voting opens 5 April 2016 and closes at 11:59pm 23 May 2016;
      3. The 80 entries with the most public votes in each of the Categories will go through to the Shortlist (160 in total).
    • 9.2 Pitchathon to select Semi-Finalists:
      1. Shortlist entries will take part in a Pitchathon in London on 1 and 2 of June 2016;
      2. Entrants will be provided with a specific time slot to attend this event. This information will be communicated by 27 May via the email address or phone provided on entry;
      3. The Pitchathon is a Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt and is strictly regulated by GWR. The format of the event is governed by a GWR fixed process which Virgin Media Business is not at liberty to change;
      4. Pitching slots will be allocated over a 29 hour period and may be at antisocial times. These cannot be changed. The order of the slots will be selected at random by Virgin Media Business;
      5. Virgin Media Business will not cover travel expenses to and from the Pitchathon event;
      6. Judging will be conducted by Virgin Media Business, selected LinkedIn Professionals and selected industry experts;
      7. Judges will review the Shortlist entries from each Category in order to decide the 20 semi-finalist in each Category (40 in total).
      8. Judges will consider all of the following criteria to make their decision:
        1. Displays a strong vision and plan
        2. Shows evidence of ability to achieve the vision
        3. Displays creativity, innovation and passion
        4. Demonstrates that the idea is viable
        5. Quality of the pitch
        6. Meets all eligibility criteria
      9. Judges decision is final
      10. The semi-finalists will be announced on 3 June.
    • 9.3 Judging to select Finalist:
      1. The 20 semi-finalists in each category (40 in total) will take part in workshops in Birmingham on 13 and 14 June 2016. The 20 Startup semi-finalists will attend on 13 June and the 20 Grow semi-finalists will attend on 14 June;
      2. Judges will review the semi-finalists during the workshops in order to decide the 3 finalists in each category (6 in total) to take part in the live finale event.
      3. Judging will be conducted by Virgin Media Business,selected LinkedIn Professionals, and selected industry experts;
      4. Entrants will be required to attend one-to-one assessments and take part in a team challenge, Entrants may be asked to supply specific supporting documents ahead of the event to brief the judges;
      5. Judges will consider the following criteria to make their decision:
        1. Displays a strong vision and plan;
        2. Shows evidence of ability to achieve the vision;
        3. Displays creativity, innovation and passion;
        4. Demonstrates that the idea is viable;
        5. Quality of the pitch;
        6. Meets all eligibility criteria; and
        7. Performance in specific challenges set by the judging panel that are undertaken at the workshops;
      6. Finalists will be announced on 16 June 2016;
      7. The 6 finalists must be available to travel to London on 21 June 2016 to take part in training, filming and photography for the winners selection at the live finale event on 28 June 2016;
    • 9.4 Judging to select winners and Awards presentation at the live finale event:
      1. The 6 finalists will all have an opportunity to pitch their business idea to the judging panel led by Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Media Business Managing Director, Peter Kelly, at the live finale event in London on 28 June 2016;/li>
      2. Reasonable economy class travel costs will be covered between the finalist’s home in the UK and the location of the live finale;
      3. Richard Branson, Peter Kelly and other judges (who will be announced prior to the live finale event) will decide the winner of each Category (2 winners).
      4. The remaining finalists will be the runners-up;
      5. Winners will be announced on 28 June 2016.
  10. The Competition for the Awards is broken down as follow:
    • 10.1 VOOM Crowdfunding Award
      1. VOOM Crowdfunding Award presented by Crowdfunder
      2. All entrants will be given the opportunity to set up and run a crowdfunding project as set out in paragraph 7 of these Terms.
      3. Crowdfunding for all entries will close on 23 May 2016.
      4. The five entrants which have raised the most funding for their entry via Crowdfunder will be shortlisted.
      5. Shortlisted entries will be judged by a panel of judges to select the winner based on the following criteria (scored from 1-10 with weighting as specified):
        1. Best video (20%);
        2. Best rewards (20%);
        3. Best description (20%); and
        4. Crowdfunding campaign – updates, messaging and marketing (40%).
      6. The winner will be invited to attend the VOOM live finale on 28 June 2016 to be presented with the VOOM Crowdfunder Award by Crowdfunder CEO Rob Love and Sir Richard Branson.
    • 10.2 VOOM Impact Award
      1. Entrants to the VOOM Impact Award will be required to respond to four questions. The Virgin Unite team, investment team and VOOM team (Impact Judges) will judge the responses to these questions and shortlist 10 entries.
      2. Shortlisted entries will be invited to attend a speed interview with the Impact Judges on 6 June 2016 where 3 finalists will be selected.
      3. The Impact Judges will carry out telephones interviews with the 3 finalists on 13 and 14 June 2016 to select the winner.
      4. The winner will be informed on 16 June 2016. All 3 finalists will be invited to the VOOM live finale on 28 June 2016.
    • 10.3 VOOM GREAT Award
      1. The VOOM GREAT Award is awarded to entrants with businesses that export.
      2. Entrants to the VOOM GREAT Award will be required to respond to 3 questions.
      3. The UKTI team (GREAT Judges) will judge the responses to these questions on or around 1 June 2016 and shortlist 10 entries from the VOOM 2016 shortlisted entries that also entered the GREAT Award.
      4. The 10 shortlisted entries will be the semi-finalists and will be invited to an interview with the GREAT judges and a panel of senior business people on 6 June 2016.
      5. 3 of the semi-finalists will be notified that they have been selected as the GREAT Award finalists by 16 June 2016.
      6. The GREAT Judges and a panel of senior business people will carry out telephone interviews with the 3 finalists to select a winner.
      7. All 3 finalists will be invited to the VOOM live finale on 28 June 2016. The winner will be announced at the live finale.
  11. THE PRIZE FUND. The total value of the prize fund is over £1,000,000. The prize fund is broken down by Category and Awards as follows:
    • 11.1 Grow Category
      1. Winner:
        1. £250,000 advertising campaign which includes two weeks on JCDecaux’s Waterloo Motion – the biggest indoor screen in Europe. The two category winners will share slots on JCDecaux’s Waterloo Motion – the biggest indoor screen in Europe. At 40M long it allows for amazing creative execution to launch the winning brands. The slots will be active for a two-week period. JCDecaux to be given at least one month’s notice before live date. Display date dependent on availability and artwork copy must be approved by JCDecaux before display;
        2. £ 50,000 cash;
        3. 12 months full internet and fixed voice package from Virgin Media Business (including up to 1GB of MIA and MT Lync for up to 150 employees) valued at up to £150,000 (does not include hardware. If required, hardware must be purchased or leased at the winner’s cost)*
          *not available to residents of the Isle of Man.
        4. Social media and PR support from Virgin Media Business;
        5. Mentoring from VOOM professional advisors;
        6. Financial advice from ICAEW
      2. 2 x Runner-up:
        1. £20,000 cash
        2. Broadband and telecoms package from Virgin Media Business valued at up to £150,000;
        3. Social media and PR support from Virgin Media Business;
        4. Mentoring from VOOM professional advisors; and
        5. Financial advice from ICAEW.
    • 11.2 Start Up Category
      1. Winner:

        1. Access to a Virgin StartUp Business Adviser Session and Training Day; and
        2. Financial advice from ICAEW.
      5. 80 x Shortlisted Entries:
        1. Free membership to Virgin StartUps subscription programme 'Hive'
        2. ICAEW Business Advice Service –package of pro bono advice covering a range of vital issues including access to finance and grants, tax compliance, developing your business plan and how to achieve your full potential.
      6. All entrants:
        1. Free Virgin StartUp Digital Business Toolkit
    • 11.3 Crowdfunder Award
      1. Winner:
        1. £50,000 cash (£25,000 from Crowdfunder and £25,000 from Virgin Media Business); and
        2. Support package from Crowdfunder and it partners (JCDecaux, XERO and Crowdcube) valued at approximately £80,000 to assist with increasing the winner’s profile.
      2. All entrants who fundraise with Crowdfunder
        1. Invitation to apply to Virgin StartUp for a match-funding loan of up to £5,000.
    • 11.4 VOOM Impact Award
      1. Winner:
        1. All expenses paid trip to Necker Island for the winner and one guest, to attend the four day Leadership Gathering 'Disrupting for Good' in 2017;
        2. Six hours of mentoring and business workshops provided by the Virgin Unite Entrepreneurs’ team; and
        3. The opportunity to pitch for investment to the Virgin Impact team.
    • 11.5 VOOM Great Award
      1. Winner:
        1. A one-to-one mentoring session at 10 Downing Street with one of the Prime Minister’s Business Ambassadors;
        2. An invite to attend the VIP Exporting is Great reception in 2016;
        3. Contact with a dedicated UKTI professional who will recommend a range of bespoke export services based on the winner’s specific company growth ambitions. These could include:
          • (a) detailed market reports;
          • (b) support to attend a future trade mission; and / or
          • (c) access to a digital trade advisor to increase the winner’s company’s online presence and develop its e-commerce strategy; and
        4. 2 tickets for 1 days' entry to the International Festival of Business at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool on a day of the winner’s choosing between 13 June to 1 July 2016 (subject to ticket availability on the chosen date).
    • 11.6 The advertising campaigns include the value of paid for media costs including, but not limited to, TV, out of home, digital, print and radio as well as all production costs associated with these advertising campaigns. The advertising campaigns for the winner and runners-up will be planned, booked and executed by Virgin Media Business in collaboration with the winners.
    • 11.7 By accepting any of the Prizes, the winners and runners-up consent to be the subject of, and participate in, a case study for Virgin Media Business if so requested.
  12. The decision of (i) Virgin Media Business as to who is selected as semi-finalists and (ii) of the judges as to who wins in each category, are final and no correspondence will be entered into. Virgin Media Business may at its sole discretion, substitute the Prize for a prize of a similar nature and/or comparable value. Winners may not request and are not entitled to a cash alternative to the Prize and the Prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  13. Virgin Media Business accepts no responsibility or liability for any force majeure, for example Sir Richard Branson not being available for judging on 28 June 2016, the cancellation/postponement/change of venue of the finale event, the availability of any mentors, or the cancellation/postponement/change of venue of any Prize placements.
  14. By entering this Competition and providing your details you are providing your consent to use your personal information to contact you with information about our group’s products and services, special offers and rewards. From time to time, we may contact you by mail, telephone, email, other electronic messaging services (such as text, voice, sound or image messages including using automated calling systems) or fax for these purposes.
  15. Entrants agree to allow their names and entries to be used without compensation if required by Virgin Media Business for advertising or publicity purposes. If one of the 40 semi-finalists, you consent to Virgin Media Business using your entry for promotional purposes on any other sites or media as chosen at Virgin Media Business’ discretion, or for such other promotional purposes as Virgin Media Business may decide.
  16. Virgin Media Business accepts no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost, incomplete or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server failures, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control. All lost, damaged or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.
  17. Illegible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. Any entrant who enters or attempts to enter the Competition in a manner which in Virgin Media Business’ reasonable determination is contrary to these Terms or by its nature to other entrants (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Competition, cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant, or Virgin Media Business and/or any of its agents or representatives) may be rejected from the Competition at Virgin Media Business’ sole discretion. Where such actions have significantly impaired the Competition, Virgin Media Business may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the Competition as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions and ensure the selection process remains fair and transparent to all entrants.
  18. Proof of entry shall not be proof of delivery or receipt. Only entries received in accordance with these Terms and the instructions will be acceptable. Return of notification of successful application as undeliverable, or failure to respond to a notification within a reasonable time will result in disqualification and another entrant may be selected at Virgin Media Business’ discretion. In the event that the entrant declines the selection, Virgin Media Business may elect, at its own discretion, to select another successful entrant. Virgin Media Business will make 3 attempts to contact successful entrants by phone. If no acknowledgement is received in response to the phone calls/email, Virgin Media Business may reallocate the place.
  19. Virgin Media Business, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any entrant at any stage for providing untruthful, inaccurate, misleading details and/or information and/or is otherwise in breach of these Terms.
  20. Virgin Media Business may use your personal data as set out its privacy policy available at the following link https://www.vmbvoom.com/privacypolicy.
  21. By entering the Competition, you are deemed to accept these Terms and all other terms and conditions. Virgin Media Business may, at its sole discretion, change the dates of entry into the Competition and/or the dates on which the Competition will be promoted and Virgin Media Business reserves the right to alter, amend or withdraw these Terms and/or the Competition without liability and without prior notice.
  22. The name and county of the winners can be obtained by writing to Virgin Media Business and entrants agree to the publication of his or her name and county of residence.
  23. Should any individual regulation or stipulation in these Terms be or become invalid the remaining stipulations remain unaffected.
  24. These Terms are governed by and construed and performed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

Voting Terms and Conditions (Terms)

  1. The #VOOM 2016 competition (Competition) is run and operated by Virgin Media Business Limited, Media House, Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UP (Virgin Media Business).
  2. Voters can register their vote at www.vmbvoom.com (Website). Information on how to vote provided on the Website forms part of these Terms. In casting a vote, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
  3. Public voting opens 5 April 2016 and closes at 11:59pm 23 May 2016 for all entries. The 80 entries with the most public votes in each of the two categories will go through to the shortlist (160 in total).
  4. Shortlisted entries will take part in a “Pitchathon” judged by Virgin Media Business,selected LinkedIn Professionals, and selected industry experts, to decide the 20 semi-finalists from each category (40 in total).
  5. The 40 semi-finalists will take part in workshops judged by Virgin Media Virgin Media Business,selected LinkedIn Professionals, and selected industry experts, to decide the 3 finalists from each category (6 in total).
  6. The successful entrants at each stage will be published on the Website. The name and county of the winners can also be obtained by writing to Virgin Media Business.
  7. Any votes registered outside the announced voting times, which will be listed on the Website, will not count.
  8. Each voter can only register one vote for any single entry. Any additional votes will be discounted. Voters may vote for multiple entries.
  9. Voting for entries requires validation of the voter’s email address.
  10. Virgin Media Business reserves the right to disqualify entries or suspend voting if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred, or if it considers there has been any attempt to rig the voting. Virgin Media Business has the right to substitute an alternative selection method at its absolute discretion.
  11. If, for any reason, the online voting system fails, the vote may be suspended or a contingency plan may be actioned.
  12. Virgin Media Business cannot promise that the Website will be free from errors or omissions, nor that it will be available uninterrupted and in a fully operating condition. The systems and/or services may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond Virgin Media Business’ reasonable control. Virgin Media Business will not be liable to any person in the event that all or any part of the systems and/or services are discontinued, modified or changed in any way.
  13. Virgin Media Business reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend the Competition at any time.
  14. LinkedIn Ireland (LinkedIn) Professional Participation in #VOOM 2016 Competition - Terms and Conditions (Terms)

  1. The LinkedIn Professional element of the #VOOM 2016 competition (Competition) is run and operated by Virgin Media Business Limited, Media House, Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UP (Virgin Media Business).
  2. Entrants must apply as directed on the Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016 website – www.vmbvoom.com (Website). By submitting an entry form, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms.
  3. Entries open on 29 March 2016 at 00:01am. Entries close on 10 May 2016 at 11:59pm (Promotion Period). Virgin Media Business’ computer is the official time-keeping device for the Promotion Period.
  4. Only entries uploaded via the Website will be eligible for the Competition.
  5. Entry eligibility:
    • 5.1 No purchase necessary (no purchase or payment of any money is necessary to enter. A purchase will not improve the chances of winning);
    • 5.2 Entrants must:
      1. be 18 years of age or over;
      2. be a UK or Ireland resident;
      3. have a valid email address;
      4. be a LinkedIn member with a profile of “Expert” level or higher prior to submitting an entry form and remain a member for the duration of the Promotion Period.
    • 5.3 Employees of Virgin Media Business and its parent and affiliate companies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee or anyone else who is professionally linked to the Competition are not eligible to enter.
  6. There is a limit of one entry per individual. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by an entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, accounts, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods may void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any entrant, the authorised account holder of the email address associated with the entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The “authorised account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organisation responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Each potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorised account holder. Virgin Media Business will have the final determination in the event of an ongoing dispute as to the identity of a potential winner.
  7. Privacy and Use of Promotion Information - Entrants hereby explicitly expressly consent to Virgin Media Business’ use of entrant’s name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.

    Virgin Media Business and Crowdfunder Limited (as the host of the Website) collect and use the personal information you provide when you enter this Competition for the purposes of administering the Competition and prize fulfilment. Virgin Media Business reserves the right to publicly announce winners in any and all media. Virgin Media Business and selected third parties will also use your personal information for direct marketing purposes unless you opt out of receiving such direct marketing.   9. Virgin Media Business reserves the right to reject any entry for any reason, in particular where an entry has not been submitted via the Website or where an entry contains what Virgin Media Business believes may be infringing content. Virgin Media Business will send these Terms to anyone who writes to Virgin Media Business’ registered address, enclosing a self-addressed envelope, within one (1) month of the end of the Promotion Period requesting such details.
  10. Entrants must be available to attend a series of events:
  11. Prize. Winners will become a “Professional Advisor” for VOOM 2016 and help choose the six (6) finalists who will present to Sir Richard Branson at the VOOM live finale event in London on 28 June 2016.
    1. 11.1 Entrants must be available to participate in the following activities. If you are unable to attend on any of the following dates, your entry will not be permitted to progress and will be replaced by an alternative winner:
      1. Pitchathon - London – 1 and 2 June 2016;

    2. 11.2 The Prize includes a series of events. The prize will be awarded to the winners only and is not transferable to third parties. The prize cannot be substituted by an entrant for cash or any other alternatives in whole or in part. It is the responsibility of the winner to cover other costs such as spending money, travel insurance as required, and to ensure that they have all necessary passports, visas and compliance with all travel and health requirements.
  12. Winner Participation. Winner may be asked to agree to participate in Virgin group or LinkedIn promotional videos (appearing on Virgin, LinkedIn and/or third party sites), internal or external LinkedIn presentations, still images in LinkedIn promotional materials, LinkedIn e-mail marketing campaigns, LinkedIn sponsored updates or display ads, external online banner ads, press release, media and other uses in connection with LinkedIn products or services. Materials may include all interviews and videos produced by LinkedIn in which winner appears. Winner agrees that LinkedIn may use Winner’s name and likeness in connection with all materials
  13. Winners’ Selection. The Winners’ selection will take place between 11 May 2016 and 16 May 2016 (Selection Period). Virgin Media Business will notify winners by email, and/or by other means provided in the promotion materials within approximately two (2) days following the winners' selection. Winner may respond by email to the email address provided in Virgin Media Business’ notification within three (3) days of receipt of the notification email. Should the winner fail to respond to Virgin Media Business, Virgin Media Business reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select a replacement.
    1. Virgin Media Business will not be responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including inactive email account(s), technical difficulties associated therewith, or winner’s failure to adequately monitor any email account.
    2. Winners will be selected from the valid entries received during the Promotion Period. Valid entries shall consist of an entry which complies with these Terms and contains a correct answer to the multiple choice question contained in the entry form.
    3. Winners will be determined by a team from LinkedIn and Virgin Media Business and at least one independent person, who will judge the LinkedIn profiles of each valid entrant based on the overall skills and qualifications for the role as determined from their LinkedIn profile, using the following criteria:
      1. Completion Level of LinkedIn Profile - 30%;
      2. Number of Connections - 20%;
      3. Level of Experience - 20%;
      4. Number of Endorsements - 10%;
      5. Quality of Written Content on Profile - 10%;
      6. Relevance of Skills - 10%;

      In the unlikely event of a tie, the panel of judges will make a final decision based on the overall standard of the LinkedIn profile, as per criteria above.

    4. Virgin Media Business will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes to Virgin Media Business’ registered address, enclosing a self-addressed envelope, within one (1) month of the end of the Promotion Period requesting such details.
    5. Entrants to the main VOOM 2016 Competition will submit their entries in one of two categories; Grow and Start-Up (Categories). ). Six (6) LinkedIn Professional entrants will be selected as winners in connection with each Category (twelve (12) winners in total) as follows:

    6. Winners may be required to undergo a background check or a short interview via phone, sign an affidavit of eligibility or declaration of compliance, liability release and a publicity release, in a form prepared by Virgin Media Business, that, among other things, will allow Virgin Media Business to use the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, voice, prize information, and biographical information for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation where permitted by law.
    7. Winners will be announced on the Website.
    8. Virgin Media Business’ decision regarding the selection or disqualification of any winner(s) will be final.
    9. Entrants must be available to participate in the following activities should they make it through to shortlist, semi-finalist and/or finalist stages of the Competition (dates subject to change). If you are unable to attend on any of the following dates, your entry will not be permitted to progress and will be replaced with the next entry on the leader-board at that time:
      1. Pitchathon - London – 1 and 2 June 2016 – winners will act as professional advisors to the judges.
      2. Semi-finalist workshops - Birmingham – 13 and 14 June 2016
      3. Finalist [train-ing] - London – 21 June 2016 – winners will offer advice and expertise in preparation for the live finale event.
      4. Live finale event - London - 28 June 2016 – winners will be recognised by Sir Richard Branson and be members of the audience.
  14. Winners will be published on the Website. Virgin Media Business’ will send the full names of the winners to anyone who writes to Virgin Media Business’ registered address, enclosing a self-addressed envelope, within one (1) month of the end of the Promotion Period requesting such details.
  15. Conditions of Participation; Reservation of Rights. By submitting an entry for this Competition, you agree to abide by these rules and any decision Virgin Media Business makes regarding this Competition, which Virgin Media Business shall make in its sole discretion. VIRGIN MEDIA BUSINESS, AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING/PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND PRIZE SUPPLIERS, AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES AND EACH SUCH COMPANY’S OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY "RELEASED PARTIES") ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE, LOSS, LIABILITIES, INJURY OR DISAPPOINTMENT INCURRED OR SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF ENTERING THE COMPETITION OR ACCEPTING ANY PRIZE.   17. Governing Law; Disputes. THE PROMOTION IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, AND THE FORUM AND VENUE FOR ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE THE COURTS IN LONDON, ENGLAND. IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER, YOU ARE ENTITLED TO BRING PROCEEDINGS TO COURT IN YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE AS APPLICABLE. THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF.
  18. Winners’ List. Individuals may request the full names and regions of the winners by submitting a self-addressed stamped envelope prior to the expiration of three (3) months from the end of the Selection Period to Virgin Media Business, VOOM 2016 Professional Advisor Winner’s List Request, Media House, Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UP.
  19. Should any individual regulation or stipulation in these Terms be or become invalid the remaining stipulations remain unaffected.

#VOOM 2016 People's Choice Competition - Entry Terms and Condition (Terms)

  1. The #VOOM 2016 People’s Choice Competition (Competition) is run and operated by Virgin Media Business Limited, Media House, Bartley Wood Business Park, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UP (Virgin Media Business).
  2. The Competition is open to individuals who submitted a valid entry to the VOOM 2016 Competition, save that the six (6) entrants selected as Finalists of the VOOM 2016 Competition on 15 June 2016, will not be eligible to win the People’s Choice Competition.
  3. Entrants must enter as directed on the [Virgin Media Business VOOM 2016 website – www.vmbvoom.com (Website)]. Entries open on 3 June 2016 at 9am. Entries close at 12pm on 24 June. Only entries uploaded via the Website will be eligible for the People’s Choice Competition. The winner of the Competition will be notified by 5pm on 24 June 2016.
    • 3.1. No purchase necessary.
    • 3.2. Entrants must be 18 years of age or over.
    • 3.3. Entrants must be a UK, Ireland or Isle of Man resident with a UK, Ireland or Isle of Man based business.
    • 3.4. Entrants warrant that the entry is their own original work or the original work of the business.
    • 3.5. Entries are to be registered in the name of the individual who will represent the entry throughout the duration of the Competition.
    • 3.6. If entering as a co-owner, entrants must ensure they have consent from the co-owner(s) to enter this Competition. Co-owners will not be able to participate in the later stages of the Competition, there can only be one representative per entry.
    • 3.7. Entrants will be required to provide valid contact details including:

      • d. location.
    • 3.8. The email address will need to be validated before the entry can be submitted.
  4. By entering the Competition, you hereby consent to being filmed in connection with the Competition.

  7. Entries and Public Voting:
    • 7.1. VOOM 2016 Competition entrants can re-enter their existing entries only for the People’s Choice Competition on 3 June 2016 from 9am.
    • 7.2. Public voting opens 3 June 2016 from 9am and closes on 24 June at noon.
    • 7.3. The winner will be the entrant whose entry gains the greatest number of public votes. Votes secured under the VOOM 2016 Competition may be displayed on the entry but will not count towards the People’s Choice Competition.
    • 7.4. The winner of the Competition will be notified by 5pm on 24 June 2016.
  8. People’s Choice Prize:
    • 8.1. The winner will receive:
      • a. £10,000 cash;
      • b. 2 tickets to the VOOM 2016 live finale in London on 28 June 2016 to be presented with the People’s Choice award. Accommodation and [reasonable travel expenses] will be provided where the winner’s place of residence is outside of London.
  9. Crowdfunding:
    • 9.1. When entering the People’s Choice Competition:
      • a. entrants who have not already done so under the VOOM 2016 Competition will have the option to raise funds for their entry for the first time via Crowdfunder Limited (Crowdfunder); or
      • b. existing Crowdfunder campaigns under the VOOM 2016 Competition will be automatically re-opened.
    • 9.2. Crowdfunding for entries of the People’s Choice Competition will open on 3 June 2016 at 9am and will close on 12 August 2016 at 9am.
  10. Crowdfunding Prize:
    • 10.1. Each week between 3 June 2016 to and including 12 August 2016 (10 weeks), the five (5) entries that have raised the most funding via Crowdfunder during that week will be shortlisted. Total pledges raised under the VOOM 2106 competition prior to 23 May 2016 will be displayed on the entry but will not count towards the Crowdfunding Prize.
    • 10.2. Weekly shortlisted entries will be judged by a panel of Virgin Media Business and Crowdfunder judges to select the weekly winner based on the following criteria (scored from 1-10 with weighting as specified:
      • a. Best video (20%);
      • b. Best rewards (20%);
      • c. Best description (20%); and
      • d. Crowdfunding campaign – updates, messaging and marketing (40%).
    • 10.3. Weekly winners will be notified the following Monday. Winners will be published on the Website.
    • 10.4. Each weekly winner will receive a £1,000 cash prize.
  11. By accepting any of the Prizes, the winner consents to be the subject of, and participate in, a case study for Virgin Media Business if so requested.
  12. The decision of (i) Virgin Media Business as to who is selected as the winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Virgin Media Business may at its sole discretion, substitute the Prize for a prize of a similar nature and/or comparable value. Winners may not request and are not entitled to a cash alternative to the Prize and the Prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  13. Virgin Media Business accepts no responsibility or liability for any force majeure, for example Sir Richard Branson not being available to attend the live finale on 28 June 2016, the cancellation/ postponement/ change of venue of the finale event or the cancellation/ postponement/ change of venue or any Prize placements.
  14. By entering this Competition and providing your details you are providing your consent for the Virgin Media group to use your personal information to contact you with information about our group’s products and services, special offers and rewards. From time to time, we may contact you by mail, telephone, email, other electronic messaging services (such as text, voice, sound or image messages including using automated calling systems) or fax for these purposes.
  15. Entrants agree to allow their names and entries to be used without compensation if required by Virgin Media Business for advertising or publicity purposes. The winner consents to Virgin Media Business using your entry for promotional purposes on any other sites or media as chosen at Virgin Media Business’ discretion, or for such other promotional purposes as Virgin Media Business may decide.
